Aluminium 3003 is a non-heat-treatable alloy that mainly consists of aluminium (about 96.8–99%), manganese (1.0–1.5%), and small amounts of copper (0.05–0.20%). This well-balanced composition boosts corrosion resistance and mechanical strength compared to commercially pure aluminium. The alloy typically boasts a tensile strength of 110–200 MPa and a yield strength of around 95 MPa. With its excellent workability, high ductility, and good fatigue resistance, Aluminium 3003 also shines in weldability and formability, making it perfect for forgings that need to perform reliably and maintain structural integrity under moderate stress.

Aluminum 3003 offers excellent corrosion resistance, good formability, lightweight, and high strength-to-weight ratio, making it ideal for custom forgings in industries like aerospace, automotive, and construction.
Aluminum 3003 is not ideal for high-temperature forging applications due to its low strength at elevated temperatures. It is more suitable for applications requiring good formability at moderate temperatures.
Aluminum 3003 has good workability, making it easy to forge. Its excellent formability allows for smooth shaping, but it requires careful temperature control to avoid material damage during forging.
Aluminium 3003 forgings are popular across various industries thanks to their outstanding corrosion resistance, solid mechanical properties, and formability. In construction, you’ll often find them in roofing sheets, siding panels, and rain-carrying goods. The automotive and transportation industries utilize these forgings in fuel tanks, trailer roofs, and structural supports. In the HVAC sector, 3003 aluminium is a go-to choice for air conditioning units, ducts, and heat exchangers. It’s also used in kitchen equipment, storage tanks, and systems for handling chemicals. Neith Metals offers Aluminium 3003 forgings customized to meet specific application needs, available in both standard and bespoke dimensions.
